June Book Report

This post is about three weeks later but better late than never, right?!

I absolutely love reading. It's one of my favorite ways to spend my free time, educate myself, escape the real world. In the past few months though I have not been reading nearly enough. So I decided to challenge myself to read more and share my completed reads as a way to both keep myself accountable and help other find some good (or not so good) books to read themselves.

So without further ado... here are the books I finished reading in June.

The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey

"The Infinite Sea" is the sequel to "The Fifth Wave" and picks up immediately after the last novel left off. So if you haven't read the first book of the series yet... maybe don't read this review (in case of spoilers!). The book started off with Ringer's point of view rather than Cassie's, which I found a bit odd. It's been a few years since I read the first book but I remember the bulk of it being in Cassie's point of view and about her. But this book from predominately NOT from her point of view and quite a lot of it was in Ringer's point of view. Seeing as how I don't like the character Ringer, I didn't really like that. But that aside, you start off with the surviving kids holed up in a hotel trying to figure out what to do next to survive and waiting for Evan Walker to show up, or not show up if he's dead like Ringer believes he must be. A lot of the plot of this book revolves around why the aliens, or "others", would go through all the trouble of the "waves" if they're so advanced of a species. If they're really as advanced as they claim why couldn't they just wipe humanity out in one easy swoop? And why use kids as soldiers? Why put their own people's lives in harms way by inserting them into human bodies? I actually found the characters attempts to find the answers to these questions to be the most interesting part of the book. The actual activities which happened in the book were less interesting and overall I didn't really like this book and it was a bit of a chore to finish. However, I'll probably still read the next one because I really do want to know how the story concludes.

Tribalry: A Business Tale by Jared Stewart and Sarah Waugh

Tribalry was recommended to me by Jamberry as a book to read before our international conference took place last month. This book was fantastic and I highly recommend it to anyone in direct sales or business in general. Tribalry is different from many other personal development type books because it's told in the form of a fable. The story is very much like "A Christmas Carol" with the main character being taken under the wing of a ghost/angel who sets out to help him see the error of his ways. In this case, the errors in how he's been conducting his failing business. He then learns the importance of building a "tribe" within his business and the steps for doing so. This is a very short read and I devoured it, finishing in just a day or two (you could probably read it in one sitting if you have the time). At JamCon we put some of the practices of tribalry into action it was a really fun exercise! There's also a website which coincides with the book so you can create your own online tribe for your business if you so desire.

Get Over Your Damn Self by Romi Neustadt

"Get over Your Damn Self" is another business themed personal development book. I read this one as a part of a book club with my Jamberry team (and I was the only one who finished it on time!). The book is written by a woman who works in and is highly successful in a direct sales company and its main focus is on recruiting and team building. So if that's an area you're personally seeking to improve in then definitely give this book a read! I really didn't think a lot of the advice she gave applied to my business as well as it may to some others but overall I did take away a lot of nuggets of knowledge and learn some areas I can personally improve in. Honestly I think it warrants a second read because there was just too much useful information in it for anyone to make all the necessary changes and remember everything with just one read!

That's all for June's book report. I've been slacking on my reading so far in July so I'll really have to dedicate some time during this next week and a half so I have more than one book to report on next month! Comment below and tell me if you've read any of these books before and if so what you thought. And tell me what you're currently reading!

Hot Hot Holos - The Holographic Nail Trend That's Breaking The Internet!

There are many nail trends that are popular right now: neon nails, negative space, stiletto nails, chrome. But the trend that rules them all? In my opinion, it's holo nails! These eye catching beauties are fun, whimsical, and oh so SHINY!!

'That Glow Tho' lacquer.

Warning: May cause decrease in productivity as you'll find yourself constantly staring at your nails.

In all seriousness though, this nail trend is one that won't be going anywhere any time soon. Jamberry is embracing this nail trend head on with the new Hot Hot Holos collection. And it's breaking the internet! Or at least at the time I'm writing this it's breaking Jamberry's website as everyone scrambles to order their's before it's too late!

Check out a few pictures of these beauties live and in action:

Jamberry July Specials and New Releases

Can you believe it's already July and 2017 is half way over? This year is just flying by!

Jamberry has some amazing new designs and products available for the month of July as well as some incredible incentives for those who want to start earning extra income this month with their own Jamberry business. Read on to get all the details.

Color Pop: Cherry Bomb

July's new Color Pop is a gorgeous sparkle lacquer called "Cherry Bomb". You'll own the room when you wear this explosive red shade that will leave you sparkling all season long. This lacquer (like all of Jamberry's lacquer) is cruelty-free, gluten-free, vegan, and free of the eight most common toxins found in nail polish and lacquer. Supplies are limited so be sure to get your bottle before it sells out!

The Last Sister Style Exclusive: Star Something New

The Sister Style Exclusive category will be retiring after this month. Each month since Jamberry's creation the three founding sisters have helped create one wrap every month that represents their style and current trends. Beginning next month, however, there will instead be a special wrap to make the month's Color Pop! So July's SSE, "Star Something New" is the last one ever! This design features golden stars and stripes that is perfect for mixing or layering. Try pairing it with "Gatsby", "Tainted Love" and/or "Metallic Gold Stripe". "Star Something New" will be available through the month of July.

#JamSquad July 2017

I want to be a blessing to women all over the world by giving them the chance to join Jamberry. With the opportunity to increase your income and make life beautiful for those around you — there is no limit to how successful you can become.
Every month Jamberry has a special JamSquad incentive. During July, when you join Jamberry and sell $200 worth of product (all between July 1 at 12:00 a.m. MT and July 31 at 11:59 p.m. MT), you will receive an exclusive Jamberry Keychain! The Keychain features the new Jamberry logo and will be the first of many fun accessories to help you promote your Jamberry Business in a stylish and functional way.

July Bonus Pool

Keychains are fun but you know what's more fun? Cold, hard cash!

Who wants a little extra cash? Who wants a lot of extra cash? Jamberry has a way to help you earn some with the July Bonus Pool! Here’s how it works:
  • Step one: join Jamberry!
  • Step two: Have you have a friend join you and sell $200 (all between July 1 at 12:00 a.m. MT and July 31 at 11:59 p.m. MT), you and your recruit will receive the July #JamSquad swag item (find out what that swag item is above!)!
  • Step three: When you recruit 2 new team members and both recruits reach $200+ in sales (all between July 1 at 12:00 a.m. MT and July 31 at 11:59 p.m. MT), you will receive an extra $200 in your monthly commissions. When you recruit 3 new team members, you will receive an extra $300 in your monthly commissions. When you recruit 4 new team members, you will receive an extra $400 in your monthly commissions.
Are you seeing a pattern? The more team members you recruit (and each of those recruits sell $200+ this month), the more money you make! And the best part is there is NO LIMIT to how many team members you can recruit and money you can make this month! Don’t miss out on this exciting time to start a fun business and have your friends join you, all while earning extra cash along the way!

Fight Against Domestic Violence

Finally, and in my opinion most importantly, there are new opportunities to give back with Jamberry's Fight Against Domestic Violence campaign.

FADV has introduced 5 Collection wraps that you can wear in support of Fight Against Domestic Violence. $2 from the purchase of each sheet of wraps will be donated by Jamberry to FADV which will go directly towards helping women in YOUR local area!

Additionally, you can now elect to round your order up to the nearest dollar, with the extra proceeds going to the FADV Foundation. So you now have the ability to donate to FADV every time you checkout!

That's all for July right now! If you have any questions or want to stay up to date with all things Jamberry join me on my Facebook page.
